Care: Seal every 6–12 months. Wipe spills fast — especially citrus and wine.
Quartzite
"I want the marble look but with granite toughness."
$70 – $180 / sq ft installed
100% natural stone that looks like marble but performs like granite. The best of both worlds for homeowners who won't compromise.
Why you'll love it
Harder than granite — nearly impossible to scratch
UV stable — great for outdoor kitchens too
Dramatic veining that rivals marble
Handles heat like a champ
Good to know
Needs annual sealing
Higher price point
Ask us to verify it's true quartzite, not dolomite
Popular colors: Taj Mahal, Super White, Mont Blanc, Sea Pearl, Fantasy Brown, Azul Macaubas.
Care: Seal once a year. Clean with pH‑neutral stone cleaner. Hot pans are fine.
Soapstone
"I love that farmhouse feel — warm, rustic, and lived‑in."
$70 – $120 / sq ft installed
Velvety matte finish with a warm, old‑world feel. The go‑to for historic homes, farmhouse kitchens, and anyone who values character.
Why you'll love it
Completely non‑porous — never needs sealing
Acids, stains, heat — nothing fazes it
Scratches sand right out by hand
Warm, soft feel under your hands
Good to know
Softer — will dent easier than granite
Limited palette (grays, greens, blacks)
Oil it monthly the first year to even the color
Popular varieties: Black Venata, Barroca, Santa Rita, Alberene. Charcoal greys that warm to deep black.
Care: Mineral oil monthly year one, then just soap and water forever.

FAQ
Questions We Hear Every Week
How long does installation take?
Most kitchens are templated, fabricated, and installed within 7–10 business days of slab selection. Simple bath vanities can be done in 3–5 days.
Do I need to be home during templating & install?
Yes for templating (about 1 hour) and install day. We can work with most schedules, including early mornings and Saturdays.
Can I keep my existing sink and faucet?
Usually yes. We disconnect and reconnect plumbing at no extra charge for standard configurations.
What's the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz is engineered (93% ground quartz + resin). Quartzite is 100% natural stone — a metamorphic rock harder than granite. Both are excellent choices but perform differently.
Do you do repairs on existing countertops?
Yes — chip repair, seam re‑polishing, and re‑sealing for natural stone. Call us for a free assessment.
What areas do you serve?
Yorktown, Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk and the rest of Hampton Roads.
